Waynesboro is a town of bridges. They are more than just steel and concrete—they are the paths that connect our neighborhoods to our future. But as I’ve said before, a bridge is only as strong as the pillars holding it up.

One of those critical pillars is Waynesboro community engagement.

Education doesn't just happen inside a classroom. It thrives when families, local businesses, and city leaders work together. When we build strong partnerships, we create a "safety net" that helps every student succeed.

"A bridge is only as strong as the pillars holding it up. I am running to be the connector who strengthens those pillars."

Why community connections matter for our schools

When our schools partner with the community, we open doors for our students that a textbook alone cannot. I am running for School Board to be the connector who brings these groups together.

I will champion a stronger community by:

  • Building business partnerships: Waynesboro is growing. I want to connect our classrooms with local businesses to offer internships and job-shadowing. This makes sure our students are first in line for great local jobs.

  • Supporting families: I want to move the "paperwork burden" off our educators and create a Family Roadmap. This gives families a clear voice and the tools they need to help their children navigate big changes like starting middle or high school.

  • Investing in vitality: Our schools are the engine of Waynesboro’s success. According to the city's own "Waynesboro Together" report, families want stronger schools to keep our town vibrant.

Strengthening Waynesboro community engagement through stewardship

Some people think "stewardship" means spending as little as possible. But as a Scout leader and a dad, I know that true stewardship is about taking care of what matters.

"A fully funded school system isn't just a 'cost' to be cut. It is an investment that protects our property values and ensures Waynesboro stays vibrant."

A fully funded school system isn't just a "cost" to be cut. It is an investment that protects our property values and ensures Waynesboro stays a place where families want to build their lives.

Let’s build the bridge together

Our students deserve a bridge that is wide enough for everyone. Whether a student is learning the "4 Cs" (Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity) or preparing for the modern workforce, they shouldn't have to cross alone.

Let’s build a school system that reflects the strength and heart of the city we love.
